Beyond Sharing to Enjoying
When two people are intimate, they don’t need words. Husbands and wives, as well as best friends, know the pleasure of simply being together. They can enjoy each other’s company, even in silence.
It may seem blasphemous that we could enjoy Jesus, but the old Westminster Catechism says that is part of the meaning of life:
Q. What is the chief end of man?
A. Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
We glorify God by loving and serving him and others, we can do that better when we have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, his Son. As an adopted member of this family, you possess the right to enjoy your Father God and your Savior as well.
You were meant for intimacy with Jesus. It is your most important calling now, and for eternity. He says, I miss my time with you those moments together…
Father, accept my love today. I love you more than anyone else and will do anything to see you face to face. Thank you for loving me despite my sin. I pray I can increase my intimacy with you. Amen
